Dybala set to sign for Roma - Argentine forward agrees three-year deal to join Mourinho's side
Former Juventus forward Paulo Dybala is expected to sign a deal to join Roma this week, after agreeing to a three-year contract with Jose Mourinho’s team according to reports in Italy. Sky Sports Italia report that the capital side have won the race to sign the Argentina international after offering a deal that would see the forward take home around €6 million per year. Dybala currently has a market value of €35m after leaving Juventus last month. The 28-year-old was pictured arriving in Portugal ahead of meeting up with the Roma squad during their pre-season training camp and was even asked about his imminent move to the club. Although Dybala didn’t confirm the move was complete, he did joke about potentially being given Francesco Totti’s famous No.10 shirt.
According to reports in Italy, Mourinho has played a huge part in convincing Dybala to make the trip south to the Italian capital in favour of a move abroad. After a number of frustrating seasons in Turin, in which the forward has had to contend with injury and playing second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo and other stars, it’s not hard to see why the Argentine star would be intrigued by the prospect of being Roma’s new star forward. And how he could perhaps form a useful striker partnership with England striker Tammy Abraham.

Abraham, Kumbulla and now Dybala - Roma showing intent under Mourinho
Although Dybala will join on a free transfer, his arrival at Roma is just the latest sign of intent form the club’s owners to give Mourinho all the tools he needs to challenge for major silverware in Italy. In his first season at the club, the Serie A side spent no less than €126m signing players like Abraham (€40m), Marash Kumbulla (€26m) and Eldor Shomurodov (€18m) among others. So far this summer the club have only spent €7m on Lille right-back Zeki Celik, but have also signed former Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matić.
